About Ben

Ben is originally from Wagga Wagga. His father was a painter and Ben completed his Painting and Decorating Apprenticeship while working in the family business. Since then, Ben moved to Sydney where he started his painting business B. J. Shields Painting and Decorating, the main focus of the business was on residential work. After 10 years of running the business in Sydney, Ben moved to the Sunshine Coast for the lifestyle. He continues to run the same high quality painting service on the Sunshine Coast and is looking forward to building clientele and creating the same great relationships he had with his clients in Sydney.

Quality Work

Ben carries out the painting himself, so the work is consistently of the highest standard. With 20 years of painting experience he has become very precise in all aspects of the job. He can accurately gauge how long the job will take, foresee any problems that may arise, advise on the best products to use for the job and perform all types of painting work.

Being a sole-trader means Ben has low overheads. He is also extremely efficient in his work and his goal for every job is to finish the work as quickly as possible without sacrificing the quality. This is why he can offer such competitive prices for his clients.

Quality Products

Ben only uses quality products. He knows what brushes and rollers help make the job go faster and he knows what products are going to last longer. The majority of the time he uses Dulux paint, the exception being when he knows there is a better product for the job.

Attention to Detail

While the painting itself is obviously very important, Ben also pays close attention to the needs of each client. He is transparent and knows the limits of what can be achieved on each job. He takes timelines seriously and understands the need to minimize disruptions for the client. He will always advise on the best possible path to take depending on the goals of the job.
